Peggy
Bawn is a unique sailing yacht originally built
in the 19th Century and now rebuilt and restored
to be quite capable of sailing into the 22nd.
The construction methods and materials that builder
John Hilditch
originally used to give form to her designer G.L.
Watson's sweet lines have been faithfully reproduced
and restored by a team of craftsmen led by Michael
Kennedy of Dunmore East, Co. Waterford, Ireland.
Soon
after re-launching on "Bloomsday" - June
16th 2005 - she was cruising and racing Celtic seas
(and beyond) once again, with owner Hal Sisk at
the helm, 111 years after her original launch at
Carrickfergus in 1894. |
